Smart Solution Ablative Antifouling Paint

Smart Solution is the next generation in antifouling technology. It is formulated to be an effective, copper-free, environmentally friendly antifoulant that can protect your boat against fouling for more than one season with periodic cleaning, or with active boat use.

Smart Solution provides performance equivalent to traditional antifoulants but, instead of copper, utilizes a unique mucoprotein protective layer combined with the next generation biocide Econea.

Econea® is completely metal-free and provides protection against hard-shelled fouling – like mussels and barnacles. Any Econea released from the coating quickly degrades in the water column, with no bio-accumulation.

After launching, Smart Solution reacts with salt water to create a slick film coating that acts as a defense against the attachment of hard-shell larvae – even when the boat is not in motion. This slick film also allows any soft growth to be easily cleaned off with just a garden hose or gentle underwater scrubbing to leave a smooth foul-free surface.

As with virtually all ablative paints, the more the boat is used the better Smart Solution performs.
