Sharkskin – Hard Modified Epoxy Antifouling Paint

Sharkskin is a 45.2% copper-based biocide, traditional hard modified epoxy paint.

Sharkskin aggressively combats all types of marine fouling including barnacles, seagrass, green weed, and other fouling organisms in both fresh and saltwater.

With its high purity cuprous oxide for the highest potency and special resin technology designed for the most effective biocide release rate, Sharkskin provides single season antifouling protection in warm, heavy fouling waters and multi-season protection in cooler, lower fouling waters.

Sharkskin can be applied over other modified epoxy antifouling coatings.

Its especially consistent viscosity makes for better flow and rolling ability. And its superior color consistency provides good color matching when re-applying over previous season’s coatings.

• More potent, highest grade of US sourced cuprous oxide available (45.2%)

• Hard, modified epoxy

• Apply by brush, 3/8″ smooth to medium nap solvent resistant roller, or spray

• Cleaner and thinner for brush or spray: Sea Hawk 2033

• Theoretical coverage is 320 ft²/gallon; 2 coats recommended, 3 at waterline and other high wear areas; 62% solids (by volume)

Note – Once the vessel is launched, if it is then rehauled, air exposure should be limited to 72 hours.

If out of the water longer than 72 hours, Sharkskin will oxidize and lose its antifouling effectiveness. Therefore, an additional coat of Sharkskin is recommended after 72 hours of air exposure from haul out time.
