AIRMAR P79 50/200kHz 600W Garmin 8-Pin In-Hull Transducer
The AIRMAR P79 is a dual-frequency, depth-only, plastic in-hull transducer terminated with a Garmin 8-pin connector and rated at 600 W. It mounts inside the hull without hull penetration, using a plastic base filled with non-toxic antifreeze, and is installed by marine technicians on solid fiberglass planing-hull vessels up to 25 ft (8 m).

Compatibility & Applications
- Fits Garmin chartplotters and fishfinders equipped with an 8-pin transducer port.
- Wires to 6-pin Garmin sounders using adapter cable part number 010-11612-00 (sold separately).
- Mounts inside solid fiberglass hulls no more than 5/8 in thick; not for cored hulls.
- Fits planing-hull powerboats, trailered boats, rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), and racing sailboats up to 25 ft.
- Mounts on hull deadrise angles from 0° to 22° via the adjustable plastic base and twist-lock attachment.
On a center console trailered frequently, the P79’s in-hull installation leaves no external protrusion on the hull bottom. The twist-lock base, filled with non-toxic antifreeze, transmits through solid fiberglass without a through-hull fitting, differentiating it from transom-mount alternatives.
