Primocon Underwater Metal Primer

Primocon is an anti-corrosive one-part primer for underwater metal as well as non-metal surfaces including hulls, running gear, and the lower units of outboards and I/Os.

It provides a barrier to reduce pitting caused by galvanic corrosion. Suitable for use on aluminum, lead, steel, and cast iron.

Although somewhat less expensive and easier to apply, one-part Primacon is a step down from Interlux’s premium two-part epoxy primer Interprotect 2000 for underwater/antifouling use, or Interlux 404/414 two-part epoxy primer for above the waterline use.

• Use as a primer for antifouling paint over sanded fiberglass

• Use as a conversion coating over tin-based or unknown well-adhered antifouling paints to prevent cracking of the new antifouling

• Will not affect the color of antifouling paint

• Theoretical coverage is 300 ft²/gallon (brush) 140 (power spray); steel and aluminum 5 coats recommended (6 if riveted), 4 on bare wood, 1 on fiberglass
